About Stenters and Dryers

A stenter — also commonly called a tenter or stenter frame — is a textile finishing machine that simultaneously stretches fabric to a precise width and applies controlled heat to dry, cure, or heat-set it. The fabric is gripped along both selvedges by a continuous chain of clips or pins, held under tension, and conveyed through a series of heated chambers where air circulation removes moisture and stabilises the material's dimensions and structure.
